Pine Bluff Mayor Shirley Washington to headline NAACP annual event on Jan. 2

By The Arkansas Delta Informer Staff – Dec. 16, 2022 – The Pine Bluff Branch of the NAACP will hold its annual Emancipation Proclamation Program on Monday, Jan. 2, 2023. This event will feature Pine Bluff Mayor Shirley M. Washington as the keynote speaker and begin at 10 a.m. at Eighth Avenue Missionary Baptist Church at 1200 West Eighth Ave.

The theme for this year’s program is “This is Power.” Music will be furnished by Eighth Avenue’s Praise Team, where Rev. Kirby L. Gulley is the host pastor

The NAACP’s mission is to secure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights to eliminate race-based discrimination and ensure the health and well-being of all persons.
