By Arkansas Delta Informer Staff – Aug. 14, 2022 – In celebration of its 137th anniversary, the Barraque Street Missionary Baptist Church and the Barraque Street Community Foundation will host their first “community block party” on Saturday, Aug. 20.

The community event will be held from 3-7 p.m., at 1800 West Pullen Ave. The public is invited to attend the local event, which will feature bounce houses, food trucks, vendors, music, and activities for all ages. There will also be a school supply give-a-way as well as information about community help organizations.

The local block party is a celebration of 137 years of service to the Pine Bluff/Jefferson County community and a chance for members and friends to build comradery, meet community partners, and promote a healthy relationship between the community and the church, officials said.

Founded in late 2021, the Barraque Street Community Foundation is a 501©3 nonprofit whose mission is to combat poverty within Jefferson County by addressing food insecurity and career placement. For more information about the local foundation, email barraquestcommunityfoundation@gmail.com.
